Joe has 30+ years of experience in sports and event management. He currently serves as the President of the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, the High-A Affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. This is Joe’s second stint as the President of a professional sports franchise, having previously served as the President of the Staten Island Yankees between 2007-2011 under the Mandalay Baseball ownership group. During his tenue with the Staten Island Yankees, Joe was honored to receive the 2008 Minor League Baseball Executive of the Year in recognition for his work in leading the Staten Island Yankees through a stage of unprecedented growth and success, culminating in selling out 26 out of the teams 38 home games.
In 2011, Joe left baseball to return to higher education as the Assistant Vice President of University Event Management at Columbia University, a large and dynamic organization providing best-in-class hospitality and event management services to 34,000+ events annually across the Columbia University campus.
Under Joe’s leadership, the BlueClaws received a Minor League Baseball Presidential Citation in recognition for standing up to protests against the BlueClaws Pride Night in 2019.
Joe is also a “20 Under 40” Award Recipient from the Staten Island Economic Development Corp. and an inductee in the Sigma Beta Delta National Management Honors Society.
He is also an adjunct professor at the Chazenoff School of Management at the College of Staten Island, where he teaches Sports Management and Principles of Management.
